Highly Courageous
(SpecialColor) Episode 5
What does courage mean to you? Does it mean facing adversity and overcoming despited the odds stacked against you? Does it mean putting your life in danger to save another human being? Because we would never do either of those things. We do not like conflict. In fact, even us, the best of acquaintances, have never gotten into an argument in our lives. Sure, we fight about the daily things, like taxes and laundry and who’s going to lather the pig, but we simply never argue. A true argument only counts if someone ends up converting to a religion or covered in bile. And we also do not like mess. We keep a clean home, always. We’ve never made a mess in our lives. Sure, we’ve left a little dust collect here and there and some dirty dishes scattered about and a big ole pot of scalding hot olive oil smeared along the tile floor from the home to the other to become a human chicken breast, navigating life through the cast iron skillet. Now, cast iron skillets, those we do do. We love that shit. Makes our toast smack. Anyway, this is the first color edition of HC Poetry, Highly Courageous. We are in fact highly courageous for releasing this, but only in our definition of courage, which is “mildly passive.” The best part about this issue, and not the fact that it’s lucky number five, is that it’s a very special color edition, telling our stories through vibrant shades of pinks and greens of whites. We hope you enjoy this very special all-color HC Poetry, but don’t get used to it. Shit’s expensive.
